Storytime Walk
For eons our ancestors shared knowledge through stories. Language and storytelling was essential to sharing knowledge and creating communities. Even today stories are powerful! Whether it's spoken or written; found in conversation, online, onscreen, on a page stories help us explore and understand the world around us. But the face to face experience of sharing and creating stories has it's own special kind of magic. This is especially true outdoors, in the woods, on a shore or even in a backyard or nearby park. It's possible to find and create stories everywhere in the world around us.
Take a walk, listen, observe, create and have fun!!!

Explore the World through Stories

Option one: Daytime Story Walk
It's a story walk and we are the story tellers! Our life is a story. And we all have more than a few to share.
The forest will have stories to tell too; maybe about what it's like to live as a tree or dig a home like a chipmunk or fly halfway across the world twice a year!
You have stories too! Possibly real, or possibly imagined. Maybe the trail will reveal the stories as we walk; or we'll find inspiration from quotes or picture cards, words or poetry. Anything can inspire a story.
Option 2: Evening Story Walk

As the sun gets lower in the sky; the light changes and the world seems to hold its breath. It's the perfect time to wander or find a place to sit looking over the ocean, or a river or a quiet place in the woods to look and listen and explore stories. The salamander who climbed a mountain. The duck who learned to fly so high the stars flew with him. The beaver who dove to the bottom of the deepest lake just to discover what was there.
Starlight, moonlight, firelight, candlelight, storylight.
